  • Amazing
We stayed at Guloncho for 2 days. We got a mind-blowing experience. The ambience of the entire bungalow is superb. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned. Foods are very hygienic, less spicy and tasty too. Mr and Mrs Nandy are very helpful. I like to thank for amazing hospitality of host Mr Nandy and his entire team. Expecting to visit Guloncho again.

  • Always recommended
The location, perfect for a peaceful weekend, was amidst a beautiful garden. The room was huge, airy, illuminated by sunlight throughout the day, neat and clean with all the elementary amenities. The dining place was spic-and-span, with additional accessories like micro-oven, toaster, etc. The breakfast was pretty decent. In fact the food was excellent throughout. The hosts were a magnificent couple, always welcoming, extending their hands to help. The support staffs were also nice, decent people. It can't be better than this.

  • Lovely ambience
It was a nice weekend. Lovely ambience with flora and fauna. Cuckoo song and chatters beautifully represent the "Basonto". Food was homely and less spicy but tasty. And lastly Mr. and Mrs Nandi, the hosts, the beautiful couple. Nice memories to cheer.

  • Will definitely like to go back
Location was ideal, ambience calm and homely with ample opportunities for cycling and walking around. Mr Nandi was very welcoming, extremely helpful and an ideal host with his personalised care. It was a pleasure to have an ‘adda ‘over coffee. We are grateful for his caring hospitality and the way he ensured my daughter could attend on-line classes during stay with Internet facilities. The food is authentic tasty Bengali cuisine, very recommended. Staff is friendly and always a call away. The stay was certainly value for money. An overall very good experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to relax and enjoy genuine Bengali hospitality.

  • Perfect homestay
In our opinion, this property ranks high on its service, cleanliness and the amazing hospitality of the host Mr. Nandi and his entire team. If you are looking for a very good quality home stay amidst a lot of greenery instead of a usual resort/hotel with all the fancy things, this place is highly recommended. Quality of the food was also very good and home like.

  • Happy staycation
Loved the hospitality and the home-like feeling that we got there. It is a gem of a place with mouth-watering organic food. One must stay there to experience some of the best moments that we cannot express in words. Everything about this property needs a special mention starting from the beautiful rooms, the hospitality, the garden, the food, etc etc.. Loved the time we have spent there and we would visit again. Loved everything.

  • Must-stay place in Santiniketan
The homestay is simply amazing. More than the place, what a great conversation with the owner of the house Mr Dhrubo Nandi. The caretakers were so attentive. They literally ran to open the gates each time we got in. There is ample space for car parking. There is hot water. The food is so authentic and Bengali. Plus, the vegetables are organic home grown which adds to the flavour of the cuisine. I wish we had stayed for a few more days. Definitely coming back to this place again.

  • The most compact and comfortable
The location is perfect for staying beside Biswabharati, Shantiniketan; absolutely serene and calm. Mr. Nandi, the host is more than perfect. Its excellent to have a gossip with him, its not only exciting but also it would enrich your perspective since he is a nice and veteran scholar and individual. Moreover, Mr Nandi took care of every detail and went beyond normal for making our stay more enjoyable. He arranged food and local staffs for us as if he knew us for decades. The cook Madhumita is a gem, she cooks so tasty and light that would remind you of your mother. Naru, the caretaker did not say no to any of our requests. Above all I would suggest you to ask Mr Nandi to invite Sanghamitra Di, a veteran scholar and master of folk and 'baoul' songs who would give you a lifetime experience by her graceful presence and heart touching voice and performance in the evening at the property. Don't hesitate to visit here at any time of the year. Will visit again pretty soon.

  • Simply wonderful way to live the authentic Santiniketan experience
Santiniketan is intimately connected to the cultural and intellectual legacy of Asia's first Nobel laureate, celebrated poet, songwriter, artist and polymath, Rabindranath Tagore. Today, over a hundred years later, Santiniketan still maintains much of its rustic charm away from the hustle, bustle, noise and pollution, and Guloncho couldn't be a better place to authentically experience it all! Located in one of the town's most historic neighbourhood, Guloncho (named after the signature Frangipani tree at its entrance) has three guest rooms with a separate entrance and small kitchen, all air conditioned and with their own bathrooms. Morning breakfast, lunch and dinner are available on order, and the home cooked meals were excellent, prominently featuring fresh organic vegetables from the property's garden. But the star attraction of Guloncho are the owners, who are not only natives of Santiniketan, but are wonderful hosts. Shubadi and Drupada, who are both highly educated and cultured, know every corner of the town and have a legion of contacts to make sure you can find your way through the forest or labyrinth of alleys to find that perfect gift to take home, take in a local concert of Rabindrasangeet, or just partake in an evening adda with other Santiniketan natives!

  • Welcoming and comfortable
The homestay was lovely, large clean rooms and welcoming helpful hosts and staff. We appreciated help with transport and finding interesting places. Home cooked food for all meals was delicious. At this time of year, the nights were cold and the extra bedding was much appreciated, as was the glorious balcony where we sat in the morning sunshine. Thank you.

  • Great Hosts
We really enjoyed the hospitality of Dhrubajyoti Nandi and his wife. It was such a pleasure talking to them over coffee. They were also very helpful in arranging our transport arrangements during this crowded time of Poush Mela. The food was excellent. Authentic Bengali cooking!!

  • Fantastic and unforgettable 4 days
We loved the photos of the property when we booked ourselves 3 nights but when we went there, we didn’t know that a OASIS was waiting for us. We were taken a lot of care by Mr Nandi and his staff. Care is the wrong word, I should say that they "pampered" us. All the touristy destination were so close by that we did not have to spend much on transportation. Mr Nandi was great help if we needed help with car booking or to be honest, he was always there with a big smile. The property is in a brilliant location and mint condition Food they catered was better than any restaurant Mushko, the pet dog became good friend too All we can say is a BIG THANK YOU to Mr Nandi and his team for looking after us so well

Great home cooked food and beautiful relaxing surroundings. A surprise little gem to find on our travels in India. Our host was a mine of information on Tagore and history of the area.
